During the Second World War things were certainly better then during the First a part the lack of food . During the first years, Hotel alla Posta was able to keep an average number of guests and could carry on its operations. In 1945 the building was damaged and all of its furnishing were stolen obliging the Pra family to move elsewhere. The ending of the war and the withdrawn of the German troops from the south of Italy represented the hardest moment. A german division stops in Caprile during the withdrawn, amassing all the population inside the church. Only the desperate mediation of the priest of Caprile “Don Celeste De Pellegrini” calmed down the situation. Few days after the surrender was signed in the Albergo alla Posta.
