May 24th 1915, Italy and Austria are in state of war, and the border between the two countries was in Caprile’s proximities (above the hotel). Through a military operation, the hotel was taken over and became a military station/post of the Brigade “Lazzari”. In the year of 1918 (Caporetto) the italian troops set on fire all the warehouses and deposits under possession of its enemy, among these warehouses, one was the Hotel alla Posta.
